Helston Community College Becomes 500th IMI Awards Centre

22-Jul-2010 » Training Press Releases » IMI Awards, the UK's only specialist awarding body dedicated to automotive qualifications, has recently approved Helston Community College as the 500th to join the expanding network of IMI Awards approved centres across the UK and worldwide.

Cornwall based Helston Community College are now approved to deliver IMI Awards qualifications up to Level 3 Light Vehicle and Fast Fit routes to students looking to enter or further their career in the motor industry. Students wishing to develop their skills even further can also progress onto Cornwall College Camborne, another IMI Awards approved centre in the area, who offer a wider range of qualifications including Heavy Vehicle, Body Repair and Refinishing.
Alan Mackrill, Managing Director at IMI Awards, along with Lead External Verifier Andrew Frounks, presented a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion to Wayne Jenkins Deputy Head, Paul Finley Head of Faculty, teaching staff Adrian Trimble and Geoff Beach along with students of the Motor Vehicle Department at the College.
Wayne Jenkins, Deputy Head of Helston Community College said "Helston College is pleased to be an approved centre for IMI Awards as they offer a wide range of courses to suit our student's needs with clear progression routes. It was a complete surprise to be the 500th approved centre and we are grateful to Alan for taking the time out of his busy schedule to present us with a commemorative plaque."
Presenting the plaque to the staff at the college, Alan Mackrill said, "We are delighted to welcome Helston Community College to our expanding network of approved centres across the UK and worldwide.
