PSL encourages comments on the proposed collaborative business relationships standard
PSL

29-Jul-2010 » Training Press Releases » People and organisations have up to and including 31st July to give their view on the draft British Standard BS 11000 - on collaborative business relationships.

The standard is the brainchild of Partnership Sourcing Limited (PSL), a self-financing not-for-profit organisation which helps organisations, large and small, in both the public and private sectors, to build and develop effective competitive business relationships based upon a collaborative approach.

Currently known as PAS 11000, the standard is the world's first collaborative relationship standard and provides a multi-stage approach to help organisations work together. The framework enables an organisation of any size and sector to apply good partnering practice and manage valuable business relationships.

PSL's Operation Director, David Hawkins, commented: "We understand that the consultation process has already prompted a number of informed and helpful contributions - from both the UK and elsewhere in the world. Nonetheless, I'm sure that BSI would be delighted to receive even more comments before the deadline!

"It's encouraging that the subject of partnering and collaborating in business is evoking such interest," he added.

To view and comment on the draft standard, BS 11000, please visit www.bsigroup.com/drafts by 31st July 2010. BSI is particularly seeking to capture views from industry and wider stakeholder groups.

Publication of BS 11000 is expected towards the end of 2010. This standard builds upon the successful PAS 11000, the framework specification for supporting collaborative business partnering.

Earlier this year, five leading companies in the defence, aviation and support services sectors become the first in the UK to be awarded PAS 11000 certification. EMCOR Group (UK), Lockheed Martin UK, NATS, Raytheon Systems Limited and VT Group worked closely with PSL to achieve PAS 11000 certification, awarded by BSI after they were audited in a pilot certification programme.
